Who we are
Steps Now ("the app") is made by Evgeny Lykhin, an independent developer. Contact: support@lykhin.com.
What the app reads
- Step count from Apple Health (HealthKit). Only after you allow it in Apple's Health permission sheet. The app asks for read access to steps and nothing else. It does not write to Health and reads no other health or fitness data.
- Step count from the iPhone motion sensor (Core Motion). Only after you allow Motion & Fitness access. This lets the widget show today's total within seconds.
- Your daily step goal. The number you choose in the app.
How it is used
Step counts are used only to show your progress ring, charts and comparisons in the app and in its Home Screen widget. The app stores your goal and a small summary of today's steps on your device, in a storage area shared only between the app and its own widget.
What the app does not do
- It does not send any data off your device. The app contains no networking, analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or tracking code.
- It does not share or sell data, and never uses health data for advertising, marketing or data mining.
- It does not use iCloud. Nothing is synced or backed up by the app itself.
- It has no account, sign-in, or user profile.
Because no data is collected, there is nothing for us to access, export or delete on your behalf.
Your choices
- Change or revoke Health access: Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices › Steps Now.
- Change or revoke motion access: Settings › Privacy & Security › Motion & Fitness.
- Delete the app to remove everything it stored on your device.
Children
The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country).
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date. A change that reduces your privacy would only take effect in an app update, together with a notice in the update's release notes.
